Why Dr. Palo founded bēon
A better front door to health.
Across his clinical career and work in healthcare technology, product development, and new models of care delivery, Dr. Matti Palo began to see the same problem from a different perspective.
Modern medicine can be extraordinarily good at treating disease, repairing injuries, and intervening when something goes wrong. But strength, weight, metabolic health, sleep, exercise, recovery, nutrition, and access to a physician shape health every day. Those pieces are often fragmented across doctors, facilities, apps, gyms, and businesses—with no one connecting them for the patient.
Dr. Palo is a board-certified physician and healthcare entrepreneur. His vision is a model that is more accessible, more proactive, and more closely connected to the way people actually live.
A shared vision with Genesis
Health is built through relationships and routines.
Rodney Steven II has spent more than three decades building communities around fitness. Beginning with a single health club in Wichita, Kansas, he grew Genesis Health Clubs into a national fitness organization serving communities across the United States.
Genesis already has something traditional healthcare often struggles to create: an ongoing relationship with people actively trying to improve their health. Together, Genesis and bēon are working toward a model in which fitness becomes an important part of a more connected approach to health.
Where the idea became a model
It started in Mandeville.
Mandeville is where the bēon vision first came together as a complete physician-led model. It offered the opportunity to build alongside a Genesis community and learn how healthcare, fitness, wellness, and recovery could work together in the real world.
